Pastor’s Word

As we move closer to our 1-1-1 prayer emphasis and our quick sermon series on prayer, I thought I would once again let some great quotes on prayer inspire you to “finish well” and also lay a great foundation for our Red Carpet Sunday on September 30th.  Please know that I am praying for you as you prepare to invite “your one” to Red Carper Sunday.

“Relying on God has to begin all over again every day as if nothing had yet been done.” – C.S. Lewis

“Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work.” – Oswald Chambers

“Prayers outlive the lives of those who uttered them; outlive a generation, outlive an age, outlive a world.” E. M. Bounds

“The story of every great Christian achievement is the history of answered prayer.” E. M. Bounds

“The infallible test of spiritual integrity, Jesus says, is your private prayer life”. – Tim Keller

“A triune God would call us to converse with him . . . because he wants to share the joy he has. Prayer is our way of entering into the happiness of God himself.” – Tim Keller

“God will either give us what we ask or give us what we would have asked if we knew everything he knows.” – Tim Keller

“Prayer is not a way of making use of God; prayer is a way of offering ourselves to God in order that He should be able to make use of us”. – William Barclay

James 1:6 –  But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

See you Sunday.
