Labor Day Weekend is upon us. I have this love/hate relationship with Labor Day weekend. The three-day weekend affords us one last summer hoorah, but on the other hand it also signifies that summer is pretty much over and fall is upon us. Ugh.
Labor Day Weekend also is the transition point for New England churches and Hope Chapel in particular. The relaxed ministry of the summer gives way to the energized opportunities for faith growth that fall brings. We will transition this Sunday from our Legends series, which I really enjoyed, and embark on an early fall series – Above and Beyond. This series is based on Ephesians 3:20-21:
Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us— to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
I truly look forward to exploring what can happen when a family of Christians pray and serve a God they truly believe can do Above and Beyond the greatest things we can ask or think. I really think God is going to call us to an insatiable sense that there is more, much much more that He wants to do in and for us.
And thanks for making Hope’s summer of 2016 special. In my opinion it has been our most effective summer of ministry in our 14-year history.
