The Opportunity is Open

There is more opportunity to make a Kingdom difference in our region. If Hope Chapel, through God’s grace, is privileged to serve just one percent more of the 50,000+ people who live within five miles of our campus, it will double our Sunday attendance. Just one percent and we will need every square foot of the proposed expansion!

The larger building will ready us to serve the additional people who will respond to the life-changing message of the Gospel. Stepping through this open door will be a huge privilege, but also a huge challenge. Whenever God reveals what He is up to, it challenges His people to adjust their lives to join Him.

How to get involved

“Dear Lord, what would you do through me to accomplish your vision for our church? Help me discern a sacrifice for our campaign that is meaningful and joyful.”

Pray

Pray for our Hope Chapel leadership teams that together we would be listening to the Lord and obeying him at every turn. Pray for the hundreds of volunteers who will be coming to help over the summer of 2025 through Builders for Christ, as well as for local contractors, vendors and volunteers.

Serve

The construction project for our expansion will be in full swing from April to November 2025. There are many ways you can invest your unique talents to make a difference before, during, and after the build. Please come join us in our mission of reaching Northern Worcester County with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Give

Our three-year Generosity Campaign runs from March 2, 2025 to April 30, 2028. Is the Lord leading you to make a financial contribution? Look below to learn more and to make your charitable contribution through our secure giving portal, SecureGive. Or call to speak to someone who can help.

Can kids and teens be involved?

Kids will be a part of the generosity emphasis through Bible lessons, activities, and offerings which happen in Kids Connect. They are also welcome to any prayer initiative. Because of safety concerns on the worksite, their participation is limited.

Teens will be a part of the generosity emphasis through Bible lessons, activities, and offerings which happen on Alpha & Omega Youth nights. They are also welcome to any prayer initiative. They are encouraged to participate, where appropriate, during the build. Check in with site leader for directives.

Can I have all my giving go towards the Building Expansion?

We highly encourage that you continue faithfully giving to support the on-going ministry needs of the church’s operations, and consider giving above that amount towards “An Open Door for Hope”. Giving to the building expansion is intended to be a gift that flows from a personal and spiritual discussion with God, a gift which is sacrificial, meaningful, and joyful. For help in that process, refer to the 21 Day Devotional (available digitally above) and the Sunday Sermon Series “Stepping Through An Open Door for Hope” by Pastor Neal.

Are there other ways to give besides "cash/check"?

Stocks, Bonds, Securities. Donating securities can provide the donor with a variety of tax benefits. To donate any securities, reach out to our Treasurer.
Donor Advised Funds (DAF). A donor-advised fund is a charitable investment account that allows donors to contribute assets to support charities. Donors receive a tax deduction for their contributions and the funds grow tax free. If you have a DAF, funds can be transferred directly into Hope Chapel’s bank account. Contact the Treasurer for details.

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs). A qualified charitable distribution, also called an IRA charitable rollover, is a tax-free transfer directly from an IRA of up to $108,000 (2025 max.) per individual over 70½, or $216,000 for married couples filing jointly with both owning IRAs. This distribution bypasses the requirement that IRA withdrawals are included as income. Contact the Treasurer for Hope Chapel’s account details. Call your investment advisor to set up a QCD.

Cryptocurrency. If you have cryptocurrency, you can now make donations directly to Hope Chapel through every.org. Log on to: https://www.every.org/hope-chapel-sterling.

In-Kind Donations. In-kind donations are non-cash contributions of goods or services. They can include tangible items — things you own — or services — skills you can contribute. This is a great option for people who want to donate to An Open Door for Hope but find a cash donation difficult.

Appreciated Assets. If an investment property such as stocks, mutual fund shares, bonds, real estate, collectibles, and other property, has increased in value since its purchase and has been held for more than one year, then there may be tax advantages to transferring ownership to the church as a charitable donation. Giving the appreciated asset eliminates potential capital gains taxes for the donor while still allowing the donor to receive the contribution credit for the current market value of the asset. Because of its tax-exempt status, the church can sell the asset and receive full market value less transaction costs. Contact our Treasurer for details.
